Tip 1: In the OSCE there will always be a ‘complaining patient’ that is angry and seeking pain relief or wants to speak to the doctor. These ARE NOT an emergency and should find their way down the bottom.
Tip 2: If you get stuck between two patients for the top spot, look at the haemodynamics/vitals. Someone with multiple fractures who is shocked (maybe due to blood loss) takes priority over someone with an open fracture.
Tip 3: How can I use my two minutes effectively?
Tip 4: As soon as you have started talking about management, you won’t be able to change your order. It is important to give the list a quick look over and then start talking. If you get it wrong, ignore it, as the management you provide for your top condition will still get marks.
